Reflexology Is As Simple As Washing Your Hands, But So Much More

Washing your hands is the first line of defense against the corona virus. Some people dismiss it as too simple to work, while paying too much for items they hope may prevent it. Simple does not mean it doesn’t work. We can get caught up into thinking complicated and convoluted somehow makes things better, more important. Boy, society has made a mess with that attitude.

Reflexology can be misunderstood this way. How can rubbing someone’s feet make a difference in their health? Reflexology is a science and a mystery. Reflexology is a relaxation technique based on reflexes in your feet. That is why we use the feet. We will call this the short version.

Clients’ feet tell me about their body by tender spots and crunchy areas, that I just call “crunchies.” It a simple technique that I have practiced over thirty years. It is simple to me after years of training, study and experience. I find reflexology to be powerful. I am surely going to use it during this time to boost my immunity by decreasing stress and embracing the mystery of reflexology.

Reflexology–Rest In Peace–In a Good Way

Sometimes, it is hard to rest. There are so many distractions and interfering moments. Even in the daylight,  we need to rest so we can begin again. Reflexology is a refreshing break to re-group. It is amazing how revitalizing a thirty minute session can be–peaceful, calm, and healthy. Why delay?

Adrenaline and the Dead Snake

I picked up a few limbs in the driveway and started back in the house to leave for work. Then, I saw it–a snake in the grass! Being moderately terrified of snakes, the adrenaline rush hit, pounding heart and all. It was “fight or flight.” I ran to get the hoe.

Reminding myself to breathe, I donned my gloves (I don’t know why–I sure wasn’t going to touch it.) and went back to fight. The snake had not moved. I whacked it; it did not move. I whacked it several times. It was already dead. Oh. I picked it up with the hoe and disposed of it. I put everything up, washed my hands (snake germs from afar?) and went to do reflexology.

My adrenaline had not totally dissipated when I got to the office. I turned on the diffuser with lavender, worked my adrenal reflexes on both feet and laughed as I told me tale to others. Later, I walked two miles. I went to the C0-Op and got some snake repellent.

Sometimes, life can stress us out but  it is bad when stress becomes chronic. Sometime  stress is like a dead snake, much ado about nothing, but the adrenaline level still rises. Reflexology is an active way to help manage your stress. ” Reflexology–where stress meets its match”

Just Who Benefits From Reflexology?

It is a rainy Sunday so my mind has time to ponder. I wonder how to get the word out to our community about the unique benefits of reflexology. I love new clients because they are often amazed by how good reflexology feels. Word-of-mouth is surely my best advertisement!

Reflexology is not just for sick people or people with hurting feet. Goodness, it supports in so many ways. I have done reflexology on athletes, pregnant women and little ones. Over the years, I have done doctors and poets, attorneys and hospice patients. The common denominator is STRESS!! The happiest of us has some stress to handle. Reflexology is a relaxation technique with a winning record!

Doctors recommend stress reduction. Ministers recommend stress reduction. Counselors recommend stress reduction. So, why have you not called?

Arthritis and Reflexology Support

Arthritis can be a painful and crippling disease caused by inflammation of the joints. Studies in China in 1996 suggest that reflexology had  a beneficial effect for 91-95 percent of those suffering from arthritis.

As a relaxation technique, all reflexology points are manipulated, but the adrenal glands, kidneys and solar plexus as well as the area of the joints themselves may be tender (knees, hips, ect). Using gentle pressure to the reflex  may bring relief.

I love to see the way reflexology helps people. Relaxing can be part of any healing plan.

How many sessions do I need?

I usually laugh when asked  this questions  and remark,”How good do you want to feel?”There is no set answer because each person is different. The first visit one has no idea what the relaxation will feel like but  may not be able to keep their eyes open. When it is over, you just know you want more!

The continued release from stress often helps to manage pain. The receiver begins to relax quicker in a session, aware but relaxed. This feeling may continue after the session is done.

I often suggest at least three sessions to break the stress cycle. Because of that, I offer three sessions for $75 ( usually $30 a session). Now, you know you want more>

Take a Break

We get more active in the summer from working in the yard to taking a hike. It can leave us a little sore and sometimes a little grouchy. It is the perfect time to “Relax With Reflexology.” You will get a half hour of undivided attention, while I work the reflexes of your spine, neck and shoulders as well as your whole body.

Bring your Mint Julep and come on!
