Most of us do not wait well. I do better than I used by will and planning. For example, today I waited for the phone repair technician. I had a morning appointment. He called and gave me an approximate time so I paced myself and did not stew about it. I had already planned some things to do that could be interrupted without it being a big deal. That helped my stress level a lot. I had a book ready to fill in any spare time and something that I enjoy. Do you have some things in line to do when you have to wait–a book, your cellphone (of course, but don’t let it stress you)? It can be a good time to pray and breathe or even daydream, but not dread.
